Intimate Wedding at St. Mary’s Chapel | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

I’m so happy to share a peek of this beautiful Charlotte wedding at the historic St. Mary’s Chapel.  Located in uptown Charlotte, N.C. this chapel is one of the city’s busiest wedding venues.  This particular day was a hot one in June, which made the sweet little chapel feel cool and even more intimate.  It was a peaceful haven for a beautiful ceremony.  Guests were greeted with music and ushered in to take their seats. Family and friends admired the gorgeous stained glass details that decorate each side of the historic chapel, and cast a beautiful soft pastel light upon the altar.

I met Ken and Kendra in January, at the Bridal Showcase, and when they asked if I would photograph their ceremony and family portraits at Charlotte’s historic St. Mary’s Chapel, I was tickled to save their date.
Over the course of the past six months, we’ve had the opportunity to get to know each other, created fun engagement images, and I’ve been so impressed by their genuine kindness and love for each other. I knew their wedding would be a reflection of their warmth and joy, surrounded by friends and family on a beautiful summer day in the heart of Charlotte, NC.

Most of my wedding families like to have a full day of coverage, from getting ready to first looks, ceremony and reception. But occasionally, wedding couples ask for elopement photography or a small time frame of coverage during their special day.  That was the case for this wedding- we captured the ceremony, family portraits, and some details all in 2 hours!

My answer when wedding families have special requests for timelines, locations, and products, is almost always a resounding YES!  Especially for elopements, second marriages, and smaller affairs- I love intimate weddings and elopements.  Weddings like this one at St. Mary’s Chapel speak to my love of simplicity and romance, and it is such a joy to document even a few hours of a very unique day.
