I love photographing children and families at any age, but my Milestone Families hold a special place in my heart. Especially when its during a child’s first year. The changes we get to document every 3 months are so dramatic and fun, these sessions are filled with laughter. And, we build trust in each other, which makes our time together even more comfortable and special. When Baby Carter’s 9 month session came around, and it was a warm rainy day, I was so glad that this family decided to go ahead with our session and just have fun with the wet weather!
The images that can be made during a light sprinkle, or directly after a big storm are wonderful in a unique way. And little Carter LOVED finding puddles and practicing some barefoot skills (so very close to walking on his own!). If you’re ever tempted to cancel your family session due to rain, please reconsider. Grab a pair of rain boots, or just go barefoot, maybe an umbrella, or maybe not.. and let your little ones play! Splashing in puddles, and catching those adorably wet real-life moments is something every family album should include!
