Family Vacation Photography with Jamie Lucido

Spring is flying by, and Summer is almost here!  That means family vacations, summer lifestyle and documentary photography days- which I LOVE!!!  Families have started reaching out to me, asking about Day-in-the-Life, and family vacation photography for this summer, so I thought I’d post a little example here.  I absolutely love joining families for a day during their summer break- it can be a fun day at home (I have a questionnaire that I use, to highlight the activities you enjoy most, as a family- we capture the moments and activities most meaningful to you!), or I can meet you at any place you’re vacationing.

These sessions are customized to suit your style:  we can do pure documentary (where you just do your thing and I don’t interrupt at all), lifestyle (which involves a small bit of direction from me throughout the day), a small amount of time during the day for actual posed portraits, or a combination of them all.  I’ve had so much positive feedback from families who hire me for a day in their lives, or as their personal photographer during a day of their vacation,  because they end up with a beautiful story of images.  No one is left out of the pictures, and they’re able to enjoy their day more fully, by being present in the moment and not worried about taking pictures.  Families are also delighted to see themselves from another perspective- let me show you how beautiful your ‘regular day’ really is!

My goal in sharing these, is to remind families how precious their time together is, and how beautiful it is to have REAL LIFE captured by a professional.  Investing in a personal photographer for a day is an amazing gift to the whole family, the images grow even more valuable as time goes by.  Especially when it coincides with a family milestone or a holiday where everyone is gathered together.  I consider it such an honor to provide this type of service to the families I work with.  This is where my heart is, I believe in it fully, and I know when you see yourselves in these images, you’ll recognize how special it is, too!

Enjoy this peek at a hybrid day with one of my favorite families!  I have worked with them multiple times, and I was so happy when Mom asked me if I would join them for an overnight at the Beach, during their annual family reunion and celebrating their son’s 2nd birthday.  We reserved about an hour for family portraits, I worked in a lot of lifestyle moments with the kids, and the rest was documentary throughout their day, highlighting the birthday boy!  They ended up with a beautiful variety of photo journalistic images, and purposeful portraits.   The luxury of having a full day together allows us to let go of time constraints, and let the day flow naturally.  I couldn’t love this family more, thank you so much for allowing me to share this day with you, it was a joy!
