Rainy Day Wedding with Charlotte photographer Jamie Lucido
They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck (because a knot is even harder to unravel when its wet!)… if that is true, then Jordan & Tim REALLY got lucky with their wedding day weather!
After their beautiful ceremony at St. Gabriel’s Church, our plan was to head to a nearby park for bridal party photos. As we were pulling out of the Church, the radio announced a weather warning: hail and strong rain expected, and to take shelter immediately. I looked up at the sky and we only had big puffy clouds with a hint of darkness in the far west. Sure enough, we arrived at our destination and within a few quick minutes, the heavens opened up! We were blessed with a rainy day wedding.
I actually love creating portraits in the rain, and am always thankful for families who are up for the adventure! I carry an extra set of umbrellas and a change of clothes, and always hope for a little sprinkle on wedding days 🙂 We got WAY more than a sprinkle (thank you, Southern Summer Storms!), with thunder and lightening and a torrential downpour. Tim & Jordan looked absolutely magical beneath an umbrella surrounded by frozen raindrops <3
After a few quick portraits in the rain, we all took shelter and headed to the Providence Country Club for a reception full of dancing and joy (and a few more gorgeous portraits on the greens!)
